Self Assessment & Identifying Resources

The Career and Learning Plan or CLP can help them develop their potential within your organization. Your employees will be asked to identify likes, dislikes, and future goals. They will examine obstacles that might be preventing them from accomplishing their career goals. Employees will discover resources to help them prepare for career development, including who they can talk to and where they can obtain additional input regarding occupations and career advancement.

Researching Next Career Steps

Your employees will meet with a Human Resources representative from your facility. As part of this program, they will research jobs that are available at your facility and the skills and or education needed for those jobs. Activities in the CLP will focus your staff on developing action plans, and they will be given deadlines for completing those actions. They will develop a list of steps towards continuing their education and necessary milestones for moving ahead in their career goals.

Overcoming Barriers & Moving Ahead

ECHO CLP activities will help your staff identify and overcome difficult barriers to continuing education and job advancement. They will meet with their ECHO Coach for suggestions and input on their Career and Learning Plan, as well as in developing their action plan. The workbook is a convenient tool to keep track of personal information when they are away from the classroom, while the ECHO Online CLP will assist them in organizing their career development plan.
